Ramírez’ labour in the arts is about facilitating spaces beyond the constraints of professionalism. He believes in encouraging unconventional ideas, increasing participation, amplifying unheard voices, and platforming new artists.

Arts Manager
From 2018-2023. he was the Director of Seventh Gallery, an artist led organisation founded in 2000. In close collaboration with the board (Thea Jones, Eliki Reade, Lana Nguyen, and more), he enjoyed multiyear support from local, state and federal funding for the entirety of his period.
From 2020-2021, he organised the complex relocation of the space to 213-215 Church St, Richmond by establishing a partnership with local government, in the backdrop of ongoing lockdowns. The space was a standalone building with an automatic door, air conditioning, accessible toilets, parking and a large garden.
In 2022, he set up two free studios for artists and opened a manager position to oversee them, alongside integrating public programs into their role with the aim to engage more eclectic audiences. Honouring Seventh's collective ethos, we envisioned the manager position to participate in board meetings, strategic planning and most activities on equal grounding.
Ramírez left in 2023 to focus on independent projects and reflect on the state of incorporated artist run spaces at large.
